Pacific Engagement Visa (subclass 192)

A permanent visa for people from participating Pacific countries and Timor-Leste, chosen by ballot.

Last reviewed on 6 October 2026 by MigrateMark.

The Pacific Engagement Visa is a permanent visa for citizens of participating Pacific countries and Timor-Leste. People are chosen at random through a ballot.

How it works

  1. Register for the ballot when it opens. You do this yourself on the Australian Government's website, and the fee is small. You do not need an agent to register.
  2. Wait for the draw. Selection is random.
  3. If you are selected, you apply for the visa. You or your partner will need a formal, ongoing job offer in Australia. You must meet age, health and character requirements, and you or your partner must meet the English requirement or agree to take free English classes after you arrive.

Selected in the ballot? There is a time limit to apply after you are selected. This is when an agent's help matters most. Start the assessment and tell us your selection date.

Ballot not open? Leave your details and we will tell you when it opens.
